Time flies when you’re having fun. Over the last 100 days, over 100,000 unique people have come to j2fi.net. Not too bad for a site that has only seen a limited number of updates in that time, but it does make me wonder why Google’s AdSense program never earned me more than $0.68 USD in any given month.
Either way, to mark this interesting occasion, I’d like to share some of the items that bring so many people to this tiny site.

What can I learn from this? Sometimes the things I expected the least turn out to be the biggest drivers of traffic. This was certainly seen earlier this week after posting about Google’s little hiccup. This was picked up by a Chinese newspaper and quickly resulted in a surge of visitors … which in turn helped push this site to over 100,000 visitors in under 100 days. It wouldn’t have happened otherwise.
So, to everyone who reads this site, thank you for visiting. Hopefully I’ll have a little more time in the near future to complete some of the 40 drafts that currently clutter the database.
congrats man!
Now my 80,000 visitors in a year seems minuscule
You got picked up by a newspaper? That’s awesome, congrats! Hopefully some of the people that came in that surge from the paper will stick around and help your site really grow!
@Jamaipanese – 80,000 people a year is pretty respectable. Nothing to worry about there
@Nick – Most of the people that came from the Chinese newspaper sites were here for only a few seconds, and the ones that did stick around didn’t seem to want to use the translation tool in the upper right hand corner … oh well. That said, my RSS numbers have jumped by 18, which means it’s almost time to start advertising the number of subscribers again!
(I had promised myself not to show the RSS subscription count until I hit triple digits)
