Tax the Americans? Are you crazy? That's like biting the hand that doesn't bomb your ass back to the stone age

Seriuosly, though ... Japan gives the US too much. I can understand that they feel they should help the US out considering how they responded after WWII, but that time has passed. Mistakes were made, and the people responsible have all died. It's time to move on.

I'm not saying that Japan should be completely forgiven for their actions, of course. But I don't think we need to give the US any more free military support in exchange for a bunch of jack-asses who roam around Okinawa as though they own the place.

Thank God Fukuda had the balls to say the (aleged) raping of that 14-year old girl on Sunday by a US marine is "unforgivable". Perhaps this will finally give some bite to the Okinawan's case for expelling the US armed forces completely, rather than just moving them to another part of the island :???:

I always assumed the U.S. was paying for the privilege of being in Okinawa... but according to Wikipedia: "Since [1972], United States Armed Forces personnel and Kadena Air Base have remained on Okinawa Island by invitation of the Japanese government as part of the Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security between the United States and Japan." Silly me for thinking otherwise. Geez, couldn't we tax them a bit?
